The Role

We are looking for an experienced and energetic leader to join the team as a Data Warehouse Specialist. As a Data Warehouse Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing data warehouse solutions for our clients. You will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing strategies, and providing expert guidance to enhance their data governance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their business requirements and design effective data warehouse solutions.
  • Develop and implement data warehouse architecture, data models, schemas, and structures.
  • Demonstrate deep expertise in MDX query development, including complex multidimensional expressions and data manipulation.
  • Proficiently use SQL, ETL tools, and programming languages to extract, transform, and load data, with a strong focus on MDX and BI query development.
  • Design and implement efficient Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes to populate and update data warehouses.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by establishing appropriate data validation and cleansing procedures.
  • Optimize data warehouse performance through indexing, partitioning, and other performance tuning techniques.
  • Implement effective backup, recovery, and security measures for data warehouses.
  • Evaluate existing data frameworks and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify data quality issues, inconsistencies, and gaps.
  • Recommend and implement enhancements to data frameworks to meet client requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with data governance guidelines.
  • Participate in project planning and scoping activities, providing technical expertise on data warehouse solutions.
  • Utilize data visualization tools to create meaningful reports and dashboards for clients.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in data warehousing and business intelligence.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS) are highly desirable.
  • Proven expertise in MDX query development and BI query development.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, ETL tools, and relevant programming languages.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, dimensional modeling, and data warehouse design principles.
  • Experience with data warehousing tools and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse)
  • Proficiency in at least one ETL tool (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Professionalism and client-oriented mindset, with the ability to establish trust and maintain confidentiality.
